Dragon Speaks For Mac
Over the years I have found that the speed at which I speak has slowed moderately and that my ability to retrieve and organize language has improved. I like being able to go back to what I have written, read my work a second time and make any changes I deem necessary. When dictating, I use Dragon Pad, which saves directly to Microsoft Word. You can also dictate directly into most programs, including Word Perfect. Dragon shortens the time it takes me to write by at least 40 percent, as I can speak more rapidly than I can write or type. Having used Dragon for over 10 years, it has become the way that I write.
[ Moving this from Outlook 15 to Word for Mac 2011 forum. — Moderator ] Hello all, I have recently subscribed to Office 365 for Mac in French. I have read about how to access readability statistics but cannot tick the check box (see image). Readability is a free add-on for web browsers – we gave it a try and it works amazingly well. Readability converts any web page article into a clean and comfortable reading view – very like what you see on an e-book. Readability, a project of the Arc90 Lab, is a bookmarklet-based browser tool that reformats a Web page and presents the page’s text content in a plain, easy-to-read format. Convert for mac readability software. Select the Show readability statistics check box, and close the Spelling & Grammar dialog box. On the Tools menu, point to Spelling and Grammar and click Spelling & Grammar. After Word finishes checking spelling and grammar, it displays information about the reading level of the document. Even though the bookmarklet is still functional, the New Readability utilizes browser add-ons to carry out the conversion task. To get the add on for your browser, click the “Get the Add-On” button on Readability’s main page. The site will detect what browser you use and give you the download link accordingly.

It does work on the 2009 machine but it freezes up when doing corrections which defeats the purpose. Click to expand.Your 2009 MBP (Apple standard specs) has a novabench score of around 420, and the latest Macbook Air has a novabench score of around 660. So, that should mean a 50% performance bump for Dragon Dictate if you get the new MBA.
Nuance Dragon for Mac 5.0 I’ve been using speech recognition software for nearly 20 years, first experimenting with IBM’s ViaVoice, which required you to speak one word at a time. Nuance took over Dragon Naturally Speaking for the Mac. You'll need to find out from them their compatibility with your current operating system.
Nuance Dragon Dictate For Mac
Well, the Mac program it terrible at making corrections. The PC version allows you to add and delete words easily. The dictionary has 20,000 Surnames, that no one will ever use. It was a programmers game to see how many last names he could install.
My accuracy has improved so much that it is virtually perfect.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking has great out-of-the-box accuracy, and gets smarter the more you use it; however, if needed, you can make corrections to your texts by speaking. More – as well as more likely – word choice options have been included to make changes both quicker and easier.
In the end, I had to resort to typing to solve this problem. And this happens a lot with specific words: 'to,' 'two,' 'too' and '2' are frequent adversaries, but there are others. A feature in Dragon Professional Individual for Windows that Dragon for Mac lacks: In response to the command 'Correct two,' the software identifies numerous possible words to correct in the vicinity of the cursor. All you have to do is announce the number of the one you want to correct and then choose the appropriate correction from a list. An additional (and undesirable) outcome of this collection of correction-related issues is that, because I'm not successfully executing corrections at anything approaching the rate I did with previous versions of Dragon, I'm also not training Dragon 5 efficiently.
I CAN NOT TYPE FOR BEANS SO I REALLY WANTED THIS TO WORK, BUT MY LONG EXPERIENCE AND OTHERS HAVE TALKED TO IT REMAINS A TOY. –I HAVE NOT TRIED VERSION 11. ALSO, I AM STRICTLY A PC USER. I am a long term user of Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 which I have found excellent. I recently migrated from PC to Mac and bought Dragon Dictate 2.5. I found it primitive and frustrating. It has a “Golden Rule” that you should alternate between typing and dictating.

And I’m not sure my Mac Air has enough juice: 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, and 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory. I fit perfectly into what you’ve written in that I purchased Dragon a few years ago, was not able to get it to work properly, got very little useful help from Nuance and quit in frustration. I’m more focused on my writing now, and very much want to write at the speed of talk and write while on the go. Yes, this will work but bear in mind your Mac Mini will need to have at least an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM and preferably an SSD.
