When Apple says the 'MSI Gaming Radeon RX 560 128-bit 4GB GDDR5' and the 'SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 580 8GB GDDR5' cards are Metal-capable, does that mean they are 'generic' cards, not 'flashed' or whatever is done for the other 3 'Mac Edition' cards? Yes, these are not 'mac edition' cards, so no boot screens, which may or may not be an issue (for me it's not).

I am in the same position as OP so I decided to bump this thread instead of doing a new one since it has some good ideas. Except I have a 5770 and I am trying to run a 4K monitor that I just got on a fantastic deal. The monitor runs, and looks beautiful (it's being treated as a Retina type display - if I use DVI. For some reason, Mini DisplayPort treated it as just a massive huge display with tiny text, and no boot screen either).
